New York considering ‘death with dignity’ law
A number of groups from western New York traveled to Albany last month to advocate for and against the proposed Medical Aid in Dying Act, which is under consideration in the state legislature. The act would allow people with a terminal illness, who are expected to live less than six months, to end their life with the assistance of a doctor using special medication. Continue reading

The Buffalo Museum of Science recently discovered a rare elephant bird egg, which has been in the museum’s possession since 1939, is actually real, after being mislabeled as a model for decades. Chautauqua County lawmakers create animal abuse registry
The Chautauqua County Legislature passed a measure April 25 that would create an online animal abuse registry. The local law would require individuals convicted of animal abuse to register with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office within five days of their court verdict or release from jail. Continue reading
